Welcome to the town of Halstead in Essex, the name Halstead comes from the Old English words hald (refuge, shelter) and stede (site, place), meaning 'safe place' or 'place of refuge'.
After the successful campaign for broadband in Halstead in 2003 by Connect Halstead, the website is finally making a big return in 2011. Helping to put Halstead onto the Internet and promote the town, tourism and local businesses in the town.
